Maharashtra NEET Student’s 2nd Choice Is Ayurveda: Till some time back, when it came to choosing courses for medical students (NEET UG students), most of the students after MBBS, dental at number two. Course (BDS) was chosen and Homeopathy (BHMS) used to come at number three. However, if we look at the statistics of Maharashtra Medical Students for the last few years, a different picture emerges. These figures show that now students are giving priority to Ayurveda courses after MBBS. That is, instead of his second choice dental and homeopathy, now Ayurveda has become.
What the figures say –
According to the report of TOI, the figures of the students of NEET UG in Maharashtra (Maharashtra NEET 2022) last year are as follows.
- In the last four years, there has been an increase of 30 percent in ayurveda seats in Maharashtra. Only some of these seats have remained vacant every year.
- Along with Ayurveda, candidates have started liking homeopathy as well. They are also giving it a lot of preference and in the year 2019-20, where 844 seats used to remain vacant, now this number has reached 60. Where the seats were 4300, in the year 2021-22 it increased to about 5600.
- Since Corona, the inclination of the candidates has increased towards Ayurveda and Homeopathy. While modern medicine has not been as effective in many lifestyle diseases, both these disciplines have worked well.
- The same is the case with PG courses in Ayurveda and Homeopathy. Where the number of students and seats has increased. In the year 2019-20, the total seats of Ayurveda PG were 1092, which increased to 1163 next year. In 2019, 355 seats were vacant, so in 2020 this number was left only 126.
