Anchita Sheuli used to fall ill due to low diet, now she created history by winning gold

Commonwealth Games 2022: Sunday was a great day for India in the Commonwealth Games. On Sunday, two gold medals came from weightlifting in India’s bag. Achinta Sheuli, 20, created history by lifting a record 313 weights in the 73 kg category. Surprisingly, Achinta lifted about 10 kg more than her nearest rival. However, to reach here, Anchita Sheuli had to travel a very difficult journey.

Anchita lifted 313 kg to win the gold medal in the 73 kg category. Anchita lifted 143 kg in snatch and 170 kg in clean and jerk. Talking to the English newspaper Indian Express, Anchita’s childhood coach said, “When I first saw Anchita, she did not look like a weightlifter at all. But he had the speed that an athlete should have.”

Anchita’s journey has been extremely difficult

In 2015, Anchita participated in the Youth National Games and she was at number three. Youth Commonwealth Games. But Anchita could not qualify for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
