Army pays tribute to sniffer dog Axel, terrorist shot him during encounter

Jammu Kashmir Encounter: Tributes were paid with full military honors to the army dog ​​who made the supreme sacrifice while fighting terrorists in Kashmir. The Belgian Melinois dog, Axel, was shot a day ago by a terrorist during an anti-terrorist operation in Baramulla. According to the Indian Army, a military ceremony was organized to pay homage to the body of Axel on Sunday in which senior army officers including GOC of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) Kilo Force, Major General SS Salaria and dog-handler joined. 

Axel fought even after being shot 

Axel had cleared one room, but as soon as he entered the other room, the terrorist opened fire on him.  On hearing the sound of the bullet, the soldiers got alert and killed the terrorist hiding in the room, but the bullet was fired. Axel was also killed due to the injury. According to the information, in the post-mortem report of Axel, it has been said that he suffered ten separate injuries along with bullet injuries. That is, even after being shot, Axel had fought with the terrorist, due to which he has suffered these injuries.
