Josh Hazlewood Australia vs England: Australia fast bowler Josh Hazlewood’s experience of leading the team for the first time has been ‘quite exciting’ as well as nervous. He guided the team to an ODI series win against England at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday. The 31-year-old fast bowler made his captaincy debut in the absence of regular ODI skipper Pat Cummins and led Australia to a 72-run win over recently-crowned T20 World champions England and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
After scoring a competitive 280/8 in the allotted 50 overs, Australia bundled out England for just 208 in 38.5 overs to ensure a big win against Jos Buttler’s side. With captaincy experience, Hazlewood admitted that he was nervous ahead of the second ODI. Hazlewood has become Australia’s 28th men’s ODI captain, according to cricket.com.au.
According to the report, "The fast bowler was given the Test vice-captaincy in 2018 and had also been the limited-overs captain for a while, before Saturday’s match at the SCG, Hazlewood had never led a team in his 14-year professional career ."
