Bajrang Punia defeated Sebastian C. Rivera of Puerto Rico to win the bronze medal in the World Wrestling Championship. The Indian wrestler defeated Puerto Rico’s Sebastian C. Rivera 11-9. Earlier, Bajrang Punia had to face John Michael Diakomihalis of America in the quarter-finals of the World Wrestling Championship. However, the Indian wrestler then qualified for the bronze medal match through the repechage round where he defeated Vazhen Tevanyan of Armenia 7-6.
