MCD Amendment Bill 2022: Parliament has passed the ‘Delhi Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2022’ (MCD Amendment Bill 2022) approved today. Home Minister Amit Shah replied to the discussion on the bill in the Rajya Sabha. He cited Article 239 (AA) of the Constitution. Amit Shah said that Parliament has the right to make laws on any subject related to the Union Territory of Delhi. He said that Delhi is not a full-fledged state and the central government cannot bring a bill in relation to a full-fledged state. Earlier, many opposition members had raised questions in the discussion on the bill.
