The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reacted sharply to Digvijay Singh’s statement in which the veteran Congress leader raised questions on the surgical strike. BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the Congress should clarify its stand on the issue related to the security of the country. He said that this is very shameful and unfortunate, the leaders of the Congress party will have to apologize for this. This is the proof gang which works to break the country, and these leaders have the support of the big leaders of the Congress party. Earlier, Prasad had said on Tuesday itself that this Digvijay Singh is the one who raised questions on the Batla House encounter. were done Digvijay is not an ordinary leader, he has been the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh for 10 years and has been the General Secretary.
Ravi Shankar Prasad slammed Rahul Gandhi for dismissing Digvijaya’s controversial remarks on surgical strikes as his ‘personal opinion’ and asked why it took him so long to publicly declare his respect for the armed forces. He also asked the Congress to clarify its stand on the issues of terrorism and national security. He said, “The question is not of personal opinion. The question is of training, the level of respect towards the army. “Ravi Shankar Prasad said,” Why couldn’t you teach Digvijay to respect the Indian Army even after walking thousands of KMs with Rahul Gandhi? That too inside Kashmir, it is a matter of great shame.
Significantly, Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Monday, raising questions on the ‘surgical strike’, accused the government of lying on this issue. Addressing a gathering during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Jammu and Kashmir, Digvijay had alleged that the government agreed to its (CRPF’s) request to airlift Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel from Srinagar to Delhi. It did not happen and 40 soldiers had to sacrifice their lives in a 2019 terrorist attack in Pulwama. The Congress has distanced itself from this statement of Digvijay Singh, calling it his personal view. Responding to this statement, Rahul Gandhi said that he does not agree with it. Rahul said that whatever Digvijay Singh said is not the idea of the Congress. Before Rahul Gandhi, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has also given clarification regarding the statement.
