BJP Leader Shot Dead: A BJP leader has been shot dead in Manipur. BJP leader L Rameshwar Singh was shot dead by two armed assailants near his house. The assailants fired two bullets at him. According to Thoubal district police, a search operation is being conducted in the area after the murder of Rameshwar Singh. 

On the other hand, BJP Manipur has expressed grief over the murder of Rameshwar Singh. The state unit tweeted saying, "Saddened to know about the murder of L Rameshwar Singh, State Convenor of Ex-Servicemen Cell. We strongly condemn this inhuman incident. The criminals who carried out this incident should be brought to justice and punished accordingly."

Key accused surrenders

Rameshwar Singh was shot in the chest

He told that two people came in a car without registration number and fired at Singh from close range around 11 am. Fifty-year-old Singh was shot in the chest and was taken to a private hospital, where he died. Jogesh Chandra told the media that a few hours after the incident, the person driving the vehicle has been identified as Naorem Ricky Pointing Singh. He was arrested.

The driver, a resident of Kinau in Bishnupur district, was caught in Haobam Marak area of ​​Imphal West district. Police launched a massive manhunt for the main accused, identified as 46-year-old Ayekpam Keshorjit, and appealed to surrender, warning people against giving shelter to him.
