BJP will soon announce candidate for Uttarakhand’s Rajya Sabha seat, series of meetings continue

Rajya Sabha Poll: BJP will soon decide the name of its candidate for a seat in the Rajya Sabha, which is going to fall vacant from Uttarakhand (Uttrakhand). For this, the party will prepare a panel of six contenders and send it to the Central Parliamentary Board.  State BJP is going to have a meeting in this regard on Saturday. The victory of BJP seems certain on the basis of numerical strength in the assembly.

 This seat is going to become vacant due to the end of the term of Pradeep Tamta of Congress. As per the schedule announced by the Election Commission, nominations will be held till May 31, while polling will be held on June 10. There are three Rajya Sabha seats in Uttarakhand. Of these, one is with the Congress and two with the BJP. From BJP, the party’s national media chief Anil Baluni and Naresh Bansal are in the Rajya Sabha. The BJP has a two-thirds majority in the Uttarakhand Assembly. In the assembly elections held two months ago, BJP has won 47 out of 70 seats.

Meetings for candidate selection continue

 BJP has already started the exercise of choosing candidates two weeks ago. Two meetings have been held in this regard under the chairmanship of state president Madan Kaushik.  Kaushik said that a meeting is being organized once again to decide the names of the panel on Saturday. In this, a panel of six names will be prepared and sent to the Central Parliamentary Board, which will stamp the name of the candidate.
