‘Coal scam country’s biggest scam’, CBI asks court to give maximum punishment to the accused

Lohara East Coal Block: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday said that the coal scam is one of the biggest scams in the country. The effect of this scam is that companies are not coming forward to mine coal mines. The CBI further said that there is enough coal in the country, but despite the availability of coal, we are not able to extract coal. As a result, there is a shortage of coal in the country. Because of this, India is forced to import coal from countries like Indonesia, Australia etc.

Irregularities in the allocation of coal block

Court on Thursday convicted former coal secretary HC Gupta, former joint secretary, KS Krofa, Nagpur-based company ‘Grace Industries Limited’ and its director Mukesh Gupta after finding irregularities in the allocation of a coal block in Maharashtra.
