The experience I got while playing this character is a good experience of my life. Homi especially helped me a lot in preparing for this character. By the way, an actor loves his every character and also gives his hundred percent for it. I have worked very hard for this character of mine.

What was your first reaction when you were offered this character in ‘Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo’? In response to this question, Varun says, ‘I am playing the character of Kapil in this series. There are many layers in this character of mine. Kapil is really very principled. He is so lost in his own world that he does not even know what is happening in his life. Where is his life going? The change that comes later in his character clicked my mind. To be honest, no actor gets such characters so easily. As soon as I heard this, I gave my nod for this character. This change thing clicked for me only when I was offered this character.

Like Kapil, Varun’s life also has some principles in real life? When asked, the actor says, ‘Some principles were made, I tried to follow them, but what I think would have happened. You walk in this life assuming that what you think in life will be different than usual. That’s why keep facing every challenge in life. If you think you will do some work and then it does not happen, then you feel bad from the heart, that’s why you feel that the work you get, keep doing good for you.

Have seen your pairing of Ashish on screen but what kind of bonding is there between you off screen. In response to this question, he says, ‘We spent a lot of time together during the shoot. We used to come and go together. Off screen our chemistry was very good. Our rooms in the hotel were also opposite to each other. We used to go together in the car too. Then while working together, there is a very good bonding anyway.

How was it working with Dimple Kapadia in ‘Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo’? Varun explains, ‘When we met him at the beginning of the shoot, we did not know much, but once you meet him, you will know within an hour that with which level of actor you are working.
