Mumbai: Just like Suriya (Saravanan Sivakumar) is a superstar of South Cinema, similarly his younger brother Karthi Sivakumar (Karthi) is also a popular name in South Industry. Whereas Mani Ratnam’s films ‘Ponniyan Selvan 1’ and ‘Ponniyan Selvan..’ With this, he has become a pan India star. Although, Karti has not made Bollywood debut yet, but he is a big fan of Bollywood movies. Karti has been fond of Hindi films since the beginning and during his college days, he often used to go to theaters to watch Bollywood movies and in this affair, he was insulted once. The incident happened when Karti was a student and often used to go to cinema halls to watch Hindi films.

One such time, Karti went to the theater with his friends to watch Aamir Khan and Urmila Matondkar starrer ‘Rangeela’, from where he was thrown out. Karti himself had mentioned this incident in an interview. The story is of an event of Ponniyan Selvan 1 in 2022. In which Karti told how he and his friends were thrown out of the beach movie theatre, but even after this Karti did not agree and entered inside with tickets for another show.

Referring to this incident, Karti said- ‘I used to watch a lot of Hindi films during college days. I remember well that in 1995 Rangeela was released. My friends and I had gone there to watch the song Tanha Tanha. We were running inside the theatre. Because of which we were thrown out of the theatre. After being evicted from the show, my friends and I bought tickets for another show and then entered inside.

Let me tell you, Rangila Ramgopal Varma has written and directed. This film was a super hit. Aamir Khan and Urmila Matondkar were in the lead roles in this. Apart from this, Jackie Shroff was also seen in an important role in this film. Both Urmila and Aamir were top stars of the industry in those days and Urmila was working in Hindi films as well as South films. Urmila Matonkar has worked in films ranging from Tamil, Telugu to Kannada language.

Talking about Karti, he started his career as an assistant director. He debuted as an actor in 2005 after working as an assistant director in 2004. After Ponniyan Selvan 1, Karthi was now seen in Ponniyan Selvan 2 released this year. Now he will be seen in the film ‘Japan’.
