When Manoj Bajpayee met Amitabh for the first time, the ‘Satya’ actor was intoxicated, Big B did something that convinced him

Mumbai. When Ram Gopal Verma brought the film ‘Satya’, an actor came into everyone’s eyes overnight. We are talking about ‘Bhikhu Mhatre’ i.e. Manoj Bajpayee. Manoj had made a home in everyone’s heart with his strong acting. Since then, Manoj surprises the audience with each of his films and has become a big name in the world of entertainment. But when the film ‘Satya’ was screened, he had to be embarrassed in front of Amitabh Bachchan. Recently, he shared an old anecdote regarding this in an interview.

Manoj Bajpayee is in discussion these days about ‘Sirf Ek Hi Banda Kafi Hai’. Recently, in a conversation with Lalltop, he shared an anecdote related to the screening of ‘Satya’. Manoj told that during the screening he had a drink in Ramgopal Varma’s car and after that he had to meet Amitabh Bachchan and he could not make eye contact with him.

Party started outside the screening
Manoj told, ‘Ram Gopal sir had organized a special screening of ‘Satya’ and had specially invited Amitabh Bachchan and his family for this. I am a big fan of Amitji since childhood and had never seen him before. When the screening of the film started, Ram Gopal sir came out and said let’s celebrate. There was always a bottle of vodka in his car. We started celebrating. I realized that the film was about to end and Amitji could come out of the studio anytime. RGV went and asked me to come too but I refused because I was drunk.

Manoj further told, ‘Khalid Mohammad was also there, he said go come together and pushed me out of the car. I did not understand what to do, so I went to the washroom. When I came out, Abhishek Bachchan met me and started talking to me. Only then I felt that someone has come and stood near me. I looked at that person’s chest but I did not have the courage to look at him, I knew that he was Amitji. I don’t remember what Amitji said to me but when I asked him to hug me, he hugged me warmly and I was convinced.
