The film starring Rishi Kapoor and Zeba Bakhtiar was released in 1991 and was a super hit. When Raj Kapoor was shooting for ‘Mera Naam Joker’ in 1970, he heard a sher which went something like this – ‘Surkh-roo hota hai insaan thokeron khane ke baad, rang laati hai hina patthar pe pis jaane baad.’ He thought of the title of the film from this lion and the process of making the film started.
