Tennis Player Boris Becker Jailed: A court on Friday sentenced former tennis great Boris Becker to two and a half years in prison in a bankruptcy case. The court found him guilty of illegally transferring thousands of dollars from a bank account after he was declared bankrupt. The three-time Wimbledon champion was convicted of four charges under the Insolvency Act earlier this month. The case carries a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.

The German player transferred hundreds of thousands of pounds (dollars) from his business account to other accounts after going bankrupt in June 2017. His ex-wife Barbara  and Shirley "lily" Baker was also involved. He was also convicted of failing to declare an asset in Germany and concealing 825,000 euros ($895,000) of bank loans and shares in a tech firm.

He was acquitted in 20 other counts including the allegation that he had failed to hand over several of his awards, including two Wimbledon trophies and an Olympic gold medal.
