Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals will cross swords in Match 10 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 and many eyes will be on the clash. The action takes place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on April 2. Both sides have made winning starts to their respective campaigns and won’t mind adding two more points to their tally.

While DC defeated five-time champions Mumbai Indians by four wickets in their first assignment this season, the Titans trumped fellow new team Lucknow Super Giants by five wickets to open their account. Notably, the Capitals are reeling with unavailability issues with Australian duo David Warner and Mitchell Marsh not participating in the competition at least till April 6. Moreover, dark clouds continue to loom over Anrich Nortje’s participation amid fitness issues.

Owing to the same, DC took the field with only two overseas players against Mumbai Indians. While the result did go in their favour, it wasn’t really a convincing win as the bowlers conceded 177/5 in the game. Moreover, a top-order failure was also on display. However, the rescue job was done by Lalit Yadav and Axar Patel.

Having picked three wickets in the game, Kuldeep Yadav was exceptional for DC but he didn’t get much support from the other end. Hence, DC shouldn’t get carried away with the win. As far as GT are concerned, they don’t have many availability issues but the side doesn’t really look formidable either, at least on the paper.

Shubman Gill, Matthew Wade and Vijay Shankar form the top three of the team and they are yet to set the IPL on fire. However, dashers like Hardik Pandya, David Miller and Rahul Tewatia are next in the batting order, who can tonk the ball in any situation.  With the likes of Rashid Khan, Lockie Ferguson and Mohammed Shami being in the ranks, the bowling attack is also a potent one.

Pitch and Conditions

The track at MCA stadium, Pune is known to assist the batters at the start and spinners as the game progresses. As dew tends to play a part at this venue, chasing teams will hold an advantage here and hence, the captain winning the toss might want his men to bowl first.

Playing combinations for GT vs DC

Gujarat Titans

As the Titans are coming off a victory, there aren’t likely to make any changes. Had Abhinav Sadarangani not played that 15-run cameo against DC, there would have been a thought of inducting Gurkeerat Singh Mann in the line-up. However, that is unlikely to happen now.

Predicted XI: Shubman Gill, Matthew Wade (wk), Vijay Shankar, Abhinav Manohar, Hardik Pandya (c), David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Lockie Ferguson, Varun Aaron, Mohammed Shami

Delhi Capitals

Fans shouldn’t be surprised if DC makes multiple changes in their line-up. As Kamlesh Nagarkoti was expensive against MI, either Mustafizur Rahman or Lungi Ngidi can replace in the playing XI. The former is most likely to get a go head in this situation. There might also be a thought of KS Bharat replacing Mandeep Singh as the latter bagged a duck in his previous outing.

Predicted XI: Prithvi Shaw, Tim Seifert, KS Bharat, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Rovman Powell, Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Khaleel Ahmed, Kuldeep Yadav, Mustafizur Rahman/ Lungi Ngidi
