Udham Singh Nagar News: In village Sisaiah, Bandha, Balua, Khairani, Bagulia, Jhaparsa etc., in the marginal Khatima village of Udham Singh Nagar district, the Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department has made a commitment to vacate the dam area. This has created panic among the villagers. The team of the Irrigation Department had to face fierce arguments and protests from the angry villagers. On the spot, the police force was also ready from the police station Jhankaiya. The villagers remained adamant on the insistence of not emptying the dam. Villagers have warned of sit-in demonstration and violent agitation.

Pushkar Singh Dhami gave assurance

Villages settled on the banks of UP-owned Sharda Sagar Dam in Khatima for almost 70 years were issued notices by the UP Irrigation Department instructing them to vacate the dam by April 14.
