Zubayr Hamza Suspended by ICC: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has suspended South African batsman Zubair Hamza from all activities related to cricket for 9 months for violating anti-doping rules. Hamza gave off-tournament samples in Paarl, South Africa on January 17, 2022, in which traces of the banned substance furosemide were found, which is included in the WADA banned list.
Hamza’s international career
26-year-old Zubair Hamza is a right-handed top order batsman. He made his debut in international cricket in January 2019 against Pakistan. Zubair Hamza has played 6 Tests and one ODI for South Africa so far. During this, he has scored 212 runs in Tests and 56 runs in ODIs. However, his 31 runs will be deducted from international cricket.
