Mumbai Indians (MI) have struggled immensely in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season having lost all their four matches so far. They faced Punjab Kings in their fifth encounter in Pune and needed for their bowling to click on the night. Jasprit Bumrah has been the lone man taking up the responsibility so far and if he fails, their bowling attack has looked toothless in the edition so far.
However, against PBKS, Bumrah was at his best right from the word go even as runs came at a fair clip from the other end. With Shikhar Dhawan and Mayank Agarwal getting the team off to a brilliant start, MI needed quick wickets even after breaking their partnership. And Bumrah yet again responded to his captain’s call.
In the 15th over of the innings, the man steamed in with purpose and delivered a sensational toe-crushing yorker that left Livingstone stunned. It happened on the third delivery of the over as Bumrah went wide of the crease to create an angle and then the ball just tailed back in to crash into Livingstone’s middle and leg-stumps. There was no chance for the batter as the ball raced past from under the bat to hit the stumps.

Punjab Kings post 198 runs
Meanwhile, after being invited to bat first, Punjab Kings were propelled by their openers adding 97 runs in less than 10 overs. Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan both smashed brilliant fifties. However, MI managed to pull things back well picking up wickets of Jonny Bairstow and Livingstone early. But the early head start from the openers meant that PBKS were always looking good to post close to 200 runs in their innings.
Jitesh Sharma and Shahrukh Khan just smashed runs at will in the death overs taking on the opposition bowlers. While Jitesh scored 30 runs off 15 deliveries, the latter hit 15 off six balls as Punjab ended at 198/5 in their 20 overs.
