The youngster Mohsin Khan returned with three wickets, while Krunal Pandya and Dushmantha Chameera had two scalps each.

In their next league match, they will be up against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. With a confidence-boosting win in their last outing, the team will not look to tinker enough with the combination and are expected to play with an unchanged Playing XI.

One of the finest opening pairs in the tournament has been scoring runs at a consistent rate in the last few matches. In this season, they have been the key contributors to their team’s scorecard. After their solid starts at the top, the middle-order has done well to continue the momentum.

The captain KL Rahul is the second-highest run-scorer in the ongoing season with 374 runs in nine innings at an impressive average of 53.43. He registered his highest score of 103* against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

The Proteas wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock has scored 271 runs in nine innings at an average of 30.11, and has played an anchor role for the team in most of the matches. In the last outing, he was the top-scorer for the team with 46 off 37 balls, comprising two sixes.

Middle Order: Marcus Stoinis, Ayush Badoni

The current middle-order of LSG constitutes a combination of a talented youngster and a seasoned campaigner in the T20 format. The Australian batter Marcus Stoinis joined the team late, but was terrific with 38* off 15 balls in his debut match for LSG against the Rajasthan Royals.

However, Stoinis has failed to get going in the last few matches and is struggling with his form. His last three innings scores are 24, 0 and 1. If he provides with a decent contribution, the team will certainly post the scores of around 180 on the board, that would give a strong cushion to the bowlers.

On the other hand, Badoni has been a revelation this season. In nine innings, he has garnered 138 runs and has taken a wicket as well. But his last three innings have fetched him only 31 runs and he would definitely look to return back in form.

All-rounders: Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, Jason Holder

One of the strongest areas of LSG in this season has been the presence of talented all-rounders. The batter and a handy spinner, Deepak Hooda is consistently delivering for the team in crunch situations. In the last outing, he contributed 34 off 28 balls, and stitched a match-saving 85-run partnership with Quinton. In nine innings, he has a total of 227 runs at an average of 25.22.

The left-handed all-rounder Krunal Pandya has picked up a total of nine wickets and has scored 119 runs in the ongoing season. In the last fixture, he finished with figures of 2/11 off his four overs, that was one of the reasons for the team’s victory. However, he would look to better his performances with the bat.

The experienced campaigner, Jason Holder is a proven performer in this format as well. In seven appearances, Holder has nine wickets and 43 runs to his name. He surely has struggled with the bat, and needs to get his act together in this fixture.

Bowlers: Dushmantha Chameera, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan

It was a terrific effort from the bowlers to help the team in securing a victory by taking wickets consistently in the last match. The left-arm seamer Mohsin Khan started of the proceedings with the ball and was lethal with his pace and movement with the new ball, he then picked wickets in the death overs as well. He eventually finished with 3/24 off four overs.

The Sri Lanka national Dushmantha Chameera has been a strong support with the new ball and has also displayed his death bowling skills in the last game. He took two wickets, that included the key players captain Mayank Agarwal and Jonny Bairstow, he gave away only 17 runs.

The spinner Ravi Bishnoi picked up a single wicket, with an economy of over 10, he would look to return with improved performances. The leading wicket-taker for LSG, Avesh Khan has 11 wickets in eight appearances. In the last game, he was wicketless and conceded 26 runs off his three overs.

LSG’s predicted playing XI for DC clash: Quinton de Kock (wk), KL Rahul (c), Deepak Hooda, Marcus Stoinis, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, Jason Holder, Dushmantha Chameera, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan
