IPL 2022: Why CSK could not defend the huge score? Know here five reasons

1. Dew: Dew has been a big factor in this season of IPL so far. Later, it has wreaked havoc on the bowling teams. This is the reason that in all the IPL matches of this season in all the three stadiums of Mumbai, the team that bowled later has lost. Dew affects in the second innings of the match. The ball gets wet due to dew and then the bowler is unable to make a grip on the ball. As a result, the team batting later finds it easier to play the shot. The same thing happened in CSK vs LSG match.

2. Poor fielding: Chennai’s fielders dropped many catches in this match. In the sixth over of Lucknow’s innings, Moeen Ali dropped the catch of Quinton de Kock off Dwayne Bravo. In the eighth over, Tushar Deshpande dropped the catch of KL Rahul off Moeen Ali. Ambati Rayudu could not catch the catch of Evin Lewis off Tushar Pandey in the 14th over. Lewis was playing on just 10 runs at that time. Later he scored a half-century.

3. Lack of good fast bowler: For Chennai, 5 bowlers bowled fast in this match but except Dwayne Pretorius, the rest of the bowlers were flop. Mukesh Choudhary, Tushar Deshpande and Shivam Dubey looted a lot of runs. All-rounder Dwayne Bravo also could not do much. Here Chennai missed Adam Milne. If Chennai had given place to four foreign players instead of three, then the result could have been affected.

4. 18th over of the innings: In this over of Shivam Dubey, Ayush Badoni and Evin Lewis together scored 25 runs. This over took the match out of Chennai’s hand. Till the first of this over, the match was tilted towards Chennai.

5. Flop performance to spinners: On one hand, Lucknow spinner Ravi Bishnoi took 2 wickets for just 24 runs in four overs, on the other hand Chennai spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Moeen Ali were completely flop. Moeen conceded 14 runs in one over and Jadeja conceded 21 runs in two overs.
