IPL 2023: Root who will be seen playing in IPL, can give his name in auction

Joe Root on IPL: The mini auction for IPL 2023 is going to be held on 23 December. This auction will be held in Kochi. On the other hand, as the date of auction is coming closer, big updates related to it are coming out. Actually, the news is coming that former Test captain of England team and veteran batsman Joe Root wants to play in IPL. Root is also planning to put his name in the auction to join the IPL.

Joe Root wants to play IPL
England team veteran batsman Joe Root has expressed his desire to play in IPL 2023 while talking to Daily Mail. Root said that ‘he is thinking of playing in the IPL, he hopes to get exposure in this tournament. If he gets an opportunity to join the Indian Premier League, it will be great’. Root also said that he had drifted away from T20, the shortest format of cricket, as he has not played many T20 matches.

Auctions were not held in 2018
This is not the first time that former England Test captain Joe Root has expressed his desire to play IPL. Even before this, in the year 2018, he had given his name in the IPL auction. However, at that time no franchise had shown interest in Joe Root and Root remained unsold in that auction. However, now once again Root is planning to give his name in the auction. Root is also running in excellent form at the moment. In such a situation, this time many franchisees can bid on him.
