Jofra Archer to play in South African T20 league, joins MI Cape Town

Jofra Archer Joins MI Cap Town: England pacer Jofra Archer will play in South Africa’s T20 league. On Wednesday, MI Cape Town announced the inclusion of Jofra in their team. The inaugural edition of the South Africa T20 League will be played in January next year. Jofra Archer has been away from international cricket for a long time due to an elbow injury. Apart from an elbow injury, he had a fracture in his lower back. He played the last international match in March 2021. He returned to the field on Wednesday. During this, Jofra played a match for the England Lions in Abu Dhabi against the main England team. 

Mumbai Indians buy Jofra for 8 crores

Rajasthan Royals had released Joffra Archer before the IPL mega auction last year. Because he was not available for IPL 2022 due to injury. Knowing the unavailability of Jofra, Mumbai Indians bought him for 8 crores. Not only this, Mumbai has also retained Jofra this year. In the upcoming season of IPL, he will be seen playing for Mumbai Indians. Before playing in the Indian Premier League 2023, Jofra will participate in the T20 league played in South Africa by MI Cape Town. IPL team Mumbai Indians and South African T20 league side MI Cape Town are owned by the same group. 

Jofra last played in 2021

England’s smoky bowler Joffra Archer played the last match for his team on 20 March 2021. At the same time, since 16 September 2020, he has not been able to play ODIs for the English team. Whereas, in February 2021, he last played a Test match for England. The main reason for Jofra not playing international cricket has been his injury. But now he has recovered from the injury. In the coming times, Joffra will be seen playing franchise cricket for different teams including England.
