Sanjay Raut Detained: The lawyer of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has claimed that Sanjay Raut has not been detained by the ED, only has gone to record his statement. Sanjay Raut’s lawyer Vikrant Sabne told that today the ED wanted some documents. He got Xerox and we were given a fresh summon. On the basis of the same, Sanjay Raut has come to record the statement. He has not been arrested. Enforcement Directorate (ED) team reached Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut’s residence in Mumbai on Sunday morning.
In the money laundering case related to Patra Chawl, the ED searched his residence for hours and questioned Sanjay Raut. After which the ED took him to his office. ED officials took the Shiv Sena leader to the agency’s office in Mumbai.

Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut left his house in his own car as a large number of Shiv Sena supporters gathered. During this, while talking to reporters, Raut said that, "False allegations and documents are being prepared against them. All this is being done to weaken Shiv Sena and Maharashtra. Sanjay Raut is not one to be afraid. I will not leave the party."

Earlier, ED had issued summons to Sanjay Raut twice. In which the last summon was sent on July 27. Sanjay Raut did not appear in response to any summons. Raut was summoned by the ED for questioning in a money laundering case related to alleged irregularities in the redevelopment of Patra Chawl in Mumbai. Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray camp MP Sanjay Raut has denied any wrongdoing and alleged that he is being targeted for political vendetta.
