Nahay Khay (Chaiti Chhath Puja Nahay Khay) – 25 March 2023
Chaiti Chhath Puja begins with Nahay-Khay tradition. On this day the house is cleaned and pure vegetarian food is consumed. Women take a vow of fasting on this day and eat food containing rock salt like gram dal, gourd vegetable, rice.
Kharna (Chaiti Chhath Puja Kharna) – 26 March 2023
The second day of Chaiti Chhath Puja is called Kharna. On the day of Kharna, Prasad of jaggery kheer is made on cow dung cake or mango wood in the evening and then fasting and all the family members take it. Do not eat salt food on this day. After this the 36 hours fast of Vrati starts.

Sandhya Arghya (Chaiti Chhath Puja Sandhya Arghya) – 27 March 2023
On Chaitra Shukla Shashti Tithi, there is a tradition of Chhath Puja i.e. offering Arghya to the setting sun. This is called Sandhya Arghya. Vrati stand in a river or pond and offer Arghya to the Sun. Chhathi Maiya and Suraj are duly worshipped

Usha Arghya (Chaiti Chhath Puja Usha Arghya) – 28 March 2023
Chhath Puja is concluded by offering Usha Arghya i.e. Arghya to the rising Surat. Thekua, rice laddoos and fruits are kept in a bamboo basket for Surya Arghya. Soup is also decorated for Surya Puja. Prasad is offered to Chhathi Maiya after offering milk and water to Sun God. After this, the devotees break the fast.
