Punjab’s batsmen did a stellar performance

Earlier, opting to bat after losing the toss, Punjab Kings started with a bang as openers captain Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan batted relentlessly and scored 65 runs without losing a wicket in the powerplay. Meanwhile, captain Mayank scored his 12th IPL fifty in 30 balls. But captain Mayank became the victim of M. Ashwin after scoring 52 runs in 32 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes, giving the team the first blow to the team for 97 runs in 9.3 overs.

Jonny Bairstow, who came at number three, along with Dhawan, took the team’s score beyond 100 after 10 overs. During this, Dhawan also completed his fifty in 37 balls. At the same time, Bairstow (12) was bowled by Unadkat, due to which Punjab’s score was 128 runs for the loss of two wickets in 14 overs. Liam Livingstone (2), who came at number four, was dismissed by Bumrah and returned to the pavilion.
