Mitchell Starc was disappointed for not playing against Afghanistan in the World Cup, know the reason

Mitchell Starc On AUS vs AFG T20 World Cup Match: In the recently concluded T20 World Cup, a match was played between Australia and Afghanistan on 4 November. To enter the semi-finals, it was mandatory for the Kangaroo team to win this match by a huge margin. This was the last group match of Kangaroo team in T20 World Cup 2022. In this important match, the team’s star bowler Mitchell Starc was not included in Australia’s playing XI. Even today Stark has not recovered from that pain. He was quite disappointed with the team’s decision as to why he was not given a place in the playing XI for the match against Afghanistan. He also spoke to chief selector George Bailey on this matter.

Australia could get entry in the semi-final match

If Australia had defeated Afghanistan by a huge margin in their last group match, they would have got an entry in the semi-finals. In this match, the Kangaroo team won by just 4 runs. After this, England defeated Sri Lanka and knocked in the last four due to better net run rate. While the doors of the T20 World Cup semi-finals were closed for Australia. Stark has revealed that he spoke to Chief Selector George Bailey due to not being given a chance in this important match. Stark kept his strong side on this subject. There was a good conversation between the two. But different things were going on in the mind of the team management. Stark believed that if he had the chance, he would have tried his best to cover Afghanistan cheaply.

Starc is in fine form

In the T20 World Cup 2022, Mitchell Starc played three matches in which he was able to take only 3 wickets. Perhaps because of this performance, he was not given a chance in the match against Afghanistan. But at present, Stark is in tremendous form in the ODI series being played against England. In the second ODI, he took 4 wickets while bowling deadly against the English team. He was given the title of Player of the Match for his excellent bowling in this match. He has taken five wickets in the last 2 ODIs. Due to his sharp bowling, Australia has taken a decisive 2-0 lead in the three ODI series.
