Chandigarh MMS Scandal: There has been a stir from Chandigarh to Shimla amid the students’ anger over the Mohali MMS scandal.  The anger of the students is increasing in Mohali regarding the University MMS scandal. So far, three arrests have been made in this case, including the accused student, but the anger of the students is not taking the name of calm. The students protested outside the university till late Sunday night after Saturday. Most of the students withdrew after much applause from the police. However, some students remained on dharna overnight.

DG GS Bhullar from Punjab Police himself tried to pacify the matter by talking to the protesting students. He said trust is necessary and the law is being followed. He said that we will keep coming to you and trust is necessary. Talking to ANI, DIG Bhullar said that earlier there was lack of communication and the police is trying to make up for it.

 1- At around 4 pm, a large number of students started gathering outside the university campus in Mohali. Soon, a huge crowd of students gathered in the university campus, as the evening progressed, the anger of the students also increased. Students wearing black clothes started registering their protest by lighting mobile lights in their hands. Seeing the anger of the students, the top police officers reached the spot and started trying to persuade the students. But the students did not agree.

2- The students’ protest continued till late night. The police continued to try to persuade the students…According to the police officers, the investigation is going in the right direction, at present, after the police’s persuasion, a large number of students returned. Yet many students continued to sit on dharna.

3- The accused student is already in the custody of the police. In such a situation, the police has also arrested the youth accused of making the video viral. The accused youth was caught from Rohru in Shimla. 4 mobile phones have been found from the accused youth. The accused has been handed over to the Punjab Police. The accused youth is said to be 23 years old. Apart from this, the police has also caught a partner of the accused youth. His age is said to be 31 years.

4- Here, after this whole incident the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann ordered an inquiry into the matter on Sunday. After preliminary investigation, the police arrested a girl student. Apart from this, a 23-year-old youth has been arrested from Himachal Pradesh, who is being told as the boyfriend of the said student. The youth has been arrested and handed over to the Punjab Police. Himachal Pradesh Police has also arrested another 31-year-old man in this case.

5- Punjab Additional Director General of Police Gurpreet Dev, who reached the campus of Chandigarh University along with other senior officers to take stock of the situation after the overnight protest, told reporters that it appears that the accused student has taken a video of herself with the youth. Shared and no objectionable video of any other student has been found. University officials also called those reports “false and baseless”. which claimed that videos of several girl students were made and shared on social media in the university hostel and that several students attempted suicide after the episode.

6- However, a large number of students protested again on Sunday evening in the university campus. Some of the protesting students “pressurized” the incident on the university authorities. accused of. Most of the protesters were dressed in black and they chanted “We want justice” in the presence of the police. Like slogans.

7- Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police Vivek Sheel Soni told reporters that ‘rumours’ were made and leaked by making videos of many girl students. After that there was a demonstration in the university after midnight. He said that the mobile phone of the arrested student has been confiscated for forensic examination and no case of attempt of suicide of the girl student has come to light and no one has died in this case.

8- Officials said that a case has been registered under Section 354C of the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act and investigation is on. Chief Minister Mann has ordered an inquiry into the incident and said that strict action will be taken against those found guilty.

9- Chief Minister Mann tweeted, ‘‘Sad to hear about the unfortunate incident of Chandigarh University…Our daughters are our honor…A high level inquiry has been ordered in the matter…whatever If found guilty, strict action will be taken against him.’’ He said, ‘‘ I am in touch with the administration.” Along with this, Mann appealed to the people not to pay heed to the rumours.

10- There were also sharp reactions from political parties regarding this incident and central and state women’s rights bodies also intervened. Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal said those involved in the case would be given “the harshest punishment”.
