Madhya Pradesh and Mumbai Indians cricketer Kumar Karthikeya was in the news recently for not meeting his family for 9 years. Kartikeya, however, has revealed that he has met his family after 9 years and three months. He said that he cannot tell what he is feeling after meeting with his loved ones after a long time. Kartikeya, 24, posted a picture with his mother on Twitter to express his happiness.
Karthikeya said, "I haven’t gone home for 9 years. I decided to return home only when I would achieve something in life. My mom and dad called me time and again, but I was firm on my words. Finally, now I will return home after IPL. My coach Sanjay sir suggested my name for Madhya Pradesh. In the first year, my name came up as an extra in the Under-23 team, and I was very relieved to see my name on the list.”
Amazing in Ranji Trophy too
In the final against Mumbai at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, Karthikeya took four wickets in the first innings and five wickets in the second innings. He took 32 wickets in the season and finished second in the wicket-takers’ table. The success of the red ball was huge as it proved what a great spin bowler he is.
