Mumbai is only for those who can handle tough competition: Piyush Mishra

Piyush Misra On Salt City : Film actor Piyush Mishra is playing an important role in the recently released web series ‘Salt City’. Talking about the series, Piyush Mishra said, ‘He only likes to play a complex character which challenges him creatively.’ The story of ‘Salt City’ is based in Mumbai and revolves around a displaced family from Lucknow. Piyush Bajpayee is playing the role of the guardian of the family in the series.

The actor told what made him choose this project.  The actor said, ‘It was a well written story and writing matters to me. When it comes to my character, it is very difficult to make a choice. I am only interested in playing complex characters.

The actor further said, ‘My character is coming to Mumbai from Lucknow, with the hope of a good life. Even though he is financially stable and has built a family with a wife, three children, but emotionally all are separated. Mumbai became a city for him which brought a lot of happiness to him. The same happens with salt, it dissolves in water.’

When asked about what is the most challenging part of living in Mumbai for anyone coming from a small town, Piyush replied, ‘The city is only for those who can handle tough competition. It is a very fast paced city. If you can’t drain with it, the city will take you in a different direction. You see, here in Mumbai, there are opportunities for theater artistes, singers, dancers, actors or anyone like me because it is the center of it.’ Let us tell you that in this series Divyendu, Gauhar Khan, Navni Parihar, Isha Chopra, Nivedita Bhattacharya and others are seen in the lead role. ‘Salt City’ produced by Applause Entertainment and Sunshine Productions and directed by Rishabh Anupam Sahay released on SonyLIV on 16th June.
