National Mountain Climbing Day: National Mountain Climbing Day is celebrated on 1 August every year. In the year 1965, India’s Avatar Sing Cheema had achieved the summit of Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak. At the same time, in 1984, India’s first woman, Bachrendri Pal, hoisted the tricolor of India on the top of Mount Everest.

Priyanka Mohite
Priyanka Mohite has recently conquered 5 mountain peaks higher than 8000 meters. She is the first woman in India who has done this feat. Priyanka, who hails from Satara, Maharashtra, is 30 years old. In this month, he has made a record by reaching the peak of Kangchenjunga of 8586 meters. At the same time, she had conquered Mount Everest in the year 2013 and after that she has climbed Mount Lahotse in the year 2018, Mount Makalu in 2019 and Mount Annapurna in the year 2021. 

Baljit Kaur
27-year-old Baljit Kaur, a resident of Solan, Himachal Pradesh, has hoisted the national flag on the peaks of the mountains. He has made a record of conquering two mountain peaks above 8,000 meters in Nepal within two weeks. On the other hand, Baljeet’s next target is the world’s highest peak Everest and Lhotse, which is at 8,516 meters, is preparing to climb it soon. 

Ravindra Kumar
DM Kushinagar Ravindra Kumar is a 2011 batch Sikkim cadre officer. He is the first IS officer in the country to scale Mount Everest. He has climbed Mount Everest not once but twice. He is the son of a farmer. He is one of the few Indians to do so. He scaled Mount Everest via China and Nepal.
