Naxalite’s dead body found under suspicious circumstances from forest on Dantewada-Sukma border, prize of 8 lakhs

Chhattisgarh News: On Tuesday, a Naxalite carrying a reward of Rs.8 lakh died under mysterious circumstances in a forest in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. A gun has also been recovered from near his body. The reason for his death has not been clear yet. Inspector General of Police (Bastar range) Sundarraj P said that the name of the deceased Naxalite is Deva alias Tirri Madkami. His body was found in the Giacorta forest near Bhusaras valley under Kuakonda police station. The body has been sent for postmortem.

The cause of death will be known from the postmortem report

He told that the police had received information on Tuesday morning that the body of an unknown person was lying in the Jiakorta forest on the border of Dantewada-Sukma district, about 400 km from the capital Raipur. He said a joint team of CRPF’s 230th battalion and police reached the spot and recovered the body. The deceased has been identified as Tirri Madkami.

IG told that the body has been sent for postmortem. The exact cause of death will be known after the postmortem report comes. The official said that prima facie the police suspect that infighting within the Naxalite group or Tirri Madkami’s anti-people activities could be the reason for his death. He said that the police is probing from all possible angles.
