Many users were against the option of implementing the edit feature on Twitter. One user wrote, "Here’s my argument against the edit button: What if a tweet goes viral, gets tons of retweets and millions of impressions, and then the author completely changes the meaning of the tweet? Not just a language reform, but a total ideological change? Or Shameless Self Promotion?"
Another user wrote that Twitter is an important source of news and wrote, "Twitter is seen as a news source, if there is an edit button it will be very easy to spread misinformation, which defeats the purpose".
Last week, in another survey, Elon Musk asked whether the Twitter algorithm should be open source. Over 82 percent of users said yes, while former CEO Jack Dorsey said, "The choice of which algorithm to use (or not) should be open to all."
