PESA Act implemented in more than 11 and a half thousand villages of MP, government will run from Chaupal

Bhopal News: PESA Act has been implemented in more than 11 thousand villages of Madhya Pradesh, but putting this act on the ground will be no less than a challenge. Although the government has started showing seriousness for this. The main responsibility of implementing the PESA Act has been entrusted to the District Collectors and a big meeting and workshop is also being organized on November 22 in the capital Bhopal regarding this. Apart from this, gram sabhas will also be held in 11 thousand 757 villages across the state from November 20 to December 3.

State level PESA workshop to be held on November 22

On November 22, a state level PESA workshop will be held in Bhopal, in which commissioners and IGs of 7 divisions Chambal, Ujjain, Indore, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur, Shahdol and Rewa will participate. Similarly, Collectors, Superintendents of Police, DFOs of 20 districts Sheopur, Ratlam, Dhar, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Khargone, Barwani, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Betul, Narmadapuram, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Dindori, Balaghat, Shahdol, Anuppur, Umaria and Sidhi And CEO of District Panchayat will also participate in it.

Let us tell here that PESA Act is applicable in 11 thousand 757 villages of 5 thousand 254 panchayats of 89 development blocks of 20 districts of the state. Gram sabhas of these villages will be held between 20 November and 3 December. In these special gram sabhas, detailed information will be given along with discussion on the points of PESA rules. Similarly, gram sabhas will pass thanksgiving resolution for the implementation of PESA rules and will also discuss participation in programs of Tantya Mama Sacrifice Day on 4th December. Collectors will decide the date of Gram Sabha in consultation with the ministers in charge.

Government should not run from Bhopal but from Chaupal
Regarding the PESA Act, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that we have to create a new history. For the first time a serious effort has been made to give the rights of water, forest and land to the tribal class. Now the government should not run from Bhopal but from Chaupal, for this work should be done from the point of view of decentralization. He said that necessary publicity should also be done about PESA rules through street plays, wall writing and other mediums.
