Fire Department General Commander Luis Ponce La Jara said that when the plane collided with the truck, two firefighters present in it were killed while one was injured. Both the vehicles were moving when the plane and the truck collided.

According to reports, the Airbus A320neo of LATAM Airlines flight LA2213 had taken off from Lima’s main airport to the Peruvian city of Juliaca, when the incident took place.

In the video being shared on social media, it is seen that smoke is coming out of a big plane on the runway. According to the fire department, the accident happened at 3:25 pm, after which four rescue units were sent to the spot.

It is not yet clear how the fire truck reached the runway when the plane was taking off to Khuliyaka. During the press conference, LATAM CEO Manuel Van Oordt informed that the flight was cleared for takeoff. Phangoch said he did not know how the fire truck had reached there.
