Protest against Agnipath: 387 arrests in UP so far

Yogi Government in Action: Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has taken a tough stand against those opposing the Agnipath scheme. The Yogi government of UP has taken strict action against the chaotic elements who create ruckus in the name of demonstration. In Uttar Pradesh, 387 people have been arrested for arson and vandalism in the name of Protest. A total of 13 sections have been imposed on these youths. From Varanasi to Mathura, in the name of agitation, the upris caused tremendous damage to government properties. A total of 34 FIRs have been registered and 387 people have been arrested. 

36 people have been arrested from Varanasi Commissionerate and 15 from Gautam Buddha Commissionerate. 20 from Mirzapur and 41 in Jaunpur, the most agitating people have been arrested. 23 arrests have been made from Ghazipur, 25 from Chandauli, 35 from Mathura and 35 from Aligarh. Earlier on Saturday too, in many districts of Uttar Pradesh, the protesters had created a ruckus regarding the Agneepath scheme. At the same time, on Saturday, the protesters had protested fiercely in Kasganj. When these protesters tried to block the bypass, the police chased them through the streets of the village.

In Jaunpur district also there was a fierce protest against the Agneepath scheme. During this, the protesters arson, stone pelting and vandalized the streets of Jaunpur district. Here, in the name of demonstration, people making a nuisance set two buses, one police G and two bikes on fire. In Jaunpur, the protesters also attacked the Skort vehicles of State Information Commissioner Pramod Tiwari. In Jaunpur, in total, about one registered vehicle was damaged and 24 policemen were also injured. In Jaunpur’s tehsil Badlapur, the police station in-charge Singramau Kamlesh Kumar Kannojia was surrounded by a mob of protesters, they were also pelting stones, during which the police station fired six rounds, then the protesters fled from there.

nuisance in 18 districts, 34 FIRs registered in 12 districts, 387 arrested So far, in the name of protest, a total of 387 miscreants have been arrested by the UP Police. ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar said that till now there have been reports of protests and disturbances against the Agneepath scheme from 18 districts of the state. A total of 34  cases have been registered in this in 12 districts.
