Raj Thackeray’s statement regarding loudspeaker is against the constitution, no one can do dadagiri – Athawale

Loudspeaker Row: Political ruckus continues in Maharashtra over loudspeakers and Hanuman Chalisa. MNS Chief Raj Thackeray has warned many times about the removal of loudspeakers. Meanwhile, now Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale has objected to Raj Thackeray’s statement regarding removal of loudspeakers from mosques. 

No one can do Dadagiri in mosques – Athawale
Athawale while talking to the media said, ‘‘Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Raj Thackeray has announced that mosques The loudspeaker should be removed or else they will recite Hanuman Chalisa. We oppose the role of Thackeray.’’ Republican Party of India (Athawale) president Athawale said that no one can do Dadagiri in mosques and those looking after religious places will have to decide the volume. The police will have to inform them.

‘Raj Thackeray’s statement against the Constitution’
Athawale said, ‘‘Republican Party‘Azaan’ Opposes the closure or removal of loudspeakers from the mosque and reciting Hanuman Chalisa in front of the mosque. Republican Party supports Hindu-Muslim unity.’’ He said that action should be taken against those who create problems. Stating that Thackeray’s statement was against the Constitution, he said that his party opposes the stand of MNS. However, even before this, Athawale has opposed Raj Thackeray on this issue.
