Thiruvananthapuram News: A surprising case has come to light from Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala. Where a 23-year-old youth raped a minor girl. The police arrested the accused for raping the victim and secretly marrying her. The case is of Panavoor in Nedumangadu in Thiruvananthapuram district.
Apart from the youth, the father of the minor girl (16) and the Maulvi in a local mosque have also been arrested for getting her married. Police said on Tuesday that this child marriage was conducted on 18 January. After getting the information, the matter came to light after questioning the school authorities in this regard. After which, on the basis of his complaint, the police investigated and arrested the three accused.
Jailed in the rape case in 2021
According to the police, the main accused has been identified as Al-Amir. According to the information, he was arrested in 2021 for raping the victim. After which he was still out on bail. A case was registered against him last year on the basis of a complaint by the girl’s family. After which he was jailed, but he was released on bail and was constantly trying to persuade the girl’s family to marry him. Amir, the girl’s father and the cleric have been booked under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
