Relief to BJP leader Vikram Saini, Allahabad High Court grants regular bail

UP News: BJP leader Vikram Saini got a big relief from the High Court on Friday. Allahabad High Court  The Allahabad High Court has granted regular bail to Vikram Saini. On the other hand, the High Court will hear the petition against the sentence on Monday, 21 November. Vikram Saini, convicted in the Muzaffarnagar riots, was sentenced by the trial court. 

The decision of the trial court was challenged

Actually, after the sentence was pronounced, the trial court granted interim bail until the appeal was filed in the High Court. After being sentenced to two years by the Special Court  Vikram Saini had filed a petition against him in the High Court. The single bench of Justice Samit Gopal has approved regular bail. If Vikram Saini’s sentence is stayed, then he will file a petition to stop the by-election going to be held in Khatauli. If this happens, the by-election can be stopped. 

Assembly membership has been canceled on November 4

Vikram Saini was elected MLA from Khatauli seat in Muzaffarnagar district on a BJP ticket. The special court of Muzaffarnagar convicted Vikram Saini on October 11 and sentenced him to 2 years imprisonment. He was sentenced to 2 years. Because of this, on November 4, his assembly membership was cancelled.  The by-election is being held on December 5 for Khatauli seat, on which BJP has declared his wife Rajkumari Saini as its candidate. On 27 August 2013, there was a riot in Kawal village of Muzaffarnagar. In this case, a case was registered against 28 people including Vikram Saini under serious sections. While 15 people were acquitted due to lack of evidence, one accused died. Vikram Saini was the village head at the time of the incident.
