Karan, who has played for Chennai Super Kings, said ‘‘I am disappointed that I am not playing. It is disappointing to watch it (IPL) sitting at home. I wanted to participate in the auction, but in the end I didn’t, which was probably the best decision. Looking back, the IPL might have been a bit early.’’
He looks to do well in Surrey’s County Championship opening match against Warwickshire at Edgbaston next week while his focus is on securing a place in the squad for the Test series against New Zealand in June and the T20 World Cup in Australia in October.
