Security forces in action in Jammu and Kashmir, weapons recovered in raids

Jammu Kashmir: Security forces have recovered a huge amount of arms and ammunition from a house in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.  A police spokesman said on Sunday that a huge cache of arms and ammunition was seized from the house of Rafaqat Hussain Shah, a resident of Panjtaran, in Karnah area of ​​North Kashmir during the cordon and search operation conducted last night. 

He told that during the search a pistol, two magazines, 16 cartridges, two hand grenades, two detonators and other objectionable material have been recovered. According to the spokesperson, a case has been registered in this regard under relevant sections of law and further investigation is underway. 

Raid on threat to journalist
Apart from Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir Police is active across the state. On Saturday itself (19 November), the police conducted a large-scale raid after the terrorist organization The Resistance Front threatened journalists. Police said the raids were carried out in Srinagar, Anantnag and Kulgam districts of the valley.

Kashmir Zone Police tweeted that in connection with the recent threats to journalists, the police started raids at 10 places in Srinagar, Anantnag and Kulgam. Police on November 12 arrested Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s front organization ‘The Resistance Front’ for sending threatening letters to journalists in Kashmir. (TRF) terrorists and their handlers were registered.

Media houses were threatened online
TRF had threatened some media houses of the Valley online. Following the threat, several journalists resigned from local publications. In this regard, an intelligence dossier said that Turkey-based terrorist Mukhtar Baba and six persons associated with him in Jammu and Kashmir are suspected to be behind the threats. It said that Baba (55) used to work in various newspapers in Kashmir. He was a resident of Srinagar in the 1990s and is believed to have fled to Turkey later.
