Sikh History: Case registered against authors of three books related to Sikh history

Sikh History: Punjab Police has registered a case against the authors of 3 history books for allegedly misrepresenting facts related to Sikh history. But recently it was banned. The Punjab School Education Board had earlier this month banned the related books of class 12 and after that this step has been taken against the authors. In the matter, Education Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hair had said that action would be taken against the writers.

Farmer leader Baldev Singh Sirsa wrote ‘Modern ABC of History of Punjab’ (Modern ABC Of History Of Punjab) author Manjit Singh Sodhi, ‘History of Punjab’ (History of Punjab) is authored by Mahinder Pal Kaur and ‘History of Punjab’ A complaint was made against the writer of M S Mann, after which a case was registered at the Mohali police station.

Books banned on the basis of Inquiry Committee report
These books were published by three different publishers of Jalandhar. Based on the report of the inquiry committee, it was decided to ban these books. This committee was formed after the complaint of Sirsa. Sirsa had said in his complaint that there are some things in the books which are not in line with Sikh history. 

Punjab’s Education Minister had spoken of action against the authors
Earlier on May 1, Punjab Education Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet had said that the facts related to Sikh history were alleged in these books. Action will be taken against authors and publishers who presently distort. He had further said, Sikh history is invaluable for all of us and for the generations to come. Wrong facts related to Sikh history ‘History of Punjab’ Presented in a book called. The minister had said that the main objective of the government is to provide good education to the students and to make them aware of the history of Gurus, Sikh world and Punjab.
