DGCA Amend CAR: Aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has given relief to the passengers. Regarding this, DGCA has changed the rules of Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR). This will make it easier for many passengers to get ticket money from now on. 

DGCA said that by amending the CAR, those passengers will be benefited whose flight is canceled, denied boarding or flight is delayed. Regarding this, DGCA has amended the rules of CAR. Airline companies have to ‘downgrade’ tickets for domestic flights to a lower class. 75% of the ticket price will be refunded to the affected passenger. 

What would be the advantage? 

On downgraded international flights, 30 per cent to 75 per cent of the ticket price (including taxes) will be reimbursed depending on the distance traveled by the aircraft.

For International Sector: 30% of the cost of ticket including taxes for flights of 1500km or less. 50% of the cost of ticket including taxes for flights between 1500km to 3500km. 75% of the cost of ticket including taxes for flights more than 3500km: DGCA

How much money will you get on how many journeys?

DGCA said that 30 percent of the ticket money will be refunded in international sector flights when the journey is less than 1500 kilometers. Similarly, 50 percent ticket money will be available when the journey is between 1500 km to 3500 km.

More than this means 75 percent of the ticket money will be returned on the journey of more than 3500 kilometers. This will reduce the trouble of many passengers. This was being demanded for a long time.
