India vs Australia 1st ODI: The first match of the three ODI series between India and Australia is being played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. This match is special for Hardik Pandya. He has started captaincy in ODIs through this match. Team India’s regular captain Rohit Sharma is not available for this match due to personal reasons. That’s why Hardik Pandya has been given the captaincy of the team in his place. As ODI captain, Hardik won the toss and decided to field first. When Hardik came to the ground for the toss, meanwhile he presented a plant to Australia’s caretaker captain Steve Smith.

When Hardik Pandya came to the field for the toss for the match played between India and Australia, he presented a plant to Australia’s captain Steve Smith. Ravi Shastri and match referee Javagal Srinath were present during this. Before the toss, Ravi Shastri told the importance of Mastercard Trophy being played between India and Australia. Then he asked Hardik to present the plant to Smith. BCCI has shared this video on its official Twitter handle. Thousands of people have liked this video so far. 


regular captain absent

In the first ODI being played between India and Australia, the regular captains of both the teams are absent from the field. Recently Pat Cummins’s mother passed away. Because of which he is in Australia. Cummins will not be a part of the ODI series. In his place, Steve Smith has been made the captain for the ODI series. Team India captain Rohit Sharma is not playing in the first match. He is out of the first match due to personal reasons. On the other hand, if we talk about the ongoing first ODI in Wankhede, till the time of writing the news, while batting first, Australia had scored 78 runs at the loss of 2 wickets in 13 overs. Travis Head was dismissed for 5 and Steve Smith for 22.
