IPL 2023: Suryakumar told what will be Mumbai’s plan against SRH, said this about reaching the playoffs

IPL 2023, MI vs SRH: Five-time champions Mumbai Indians will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in their final league match at the Wankhede Stadium this afternoon. Mumbai Indians will be hoping to make it to the playoffs after a gap of two years and their fate will depend not only on winning the league match against Sunrisers Hyderabad but also on the result of RCB’s match. The match will take place between Royals Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Before their last match, Mumbai Indians have 14 points from 13 matches. At the same time, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) also have 14-14 points. Their net run rate is also low as compared to RCB and hence they will have to register a huge win against Hyderabad.

Mumbai Indians vice-captain and key batsman Suryakumar Yadav said that despite the difficult conditions, they will take Sunday’s match with Sunrisers Hyderabad like any other match. They said, "It’s just another game for us. We know what we are doing at Wankhede in the last four to five matches. We know our strength and we will support it."

The condition of Mumbai Indians is that even if they win today against Hyderabad, it is not necessary that they will reach the playoffs, because if RCB defeats Gujarat then Mumbai will be out.

Surya said that he is not thinking about such a scenario. They said, "If we don’t make it, we don’t prepare for it. We get ready for a good game. We are trying to have that perfect game and hope it goes well (on Sunday)."

He further said, "We have the advantage because regardless of the team we play against, home matches are always better. This is our last league match and whenever you think about it, you always think that it would be better to end the league phase."
