WPL: The 16th match of the Women’s Premier League has been played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Giants. In this match, RCB defeated Gujarat by 8 wickets. This match was a do or die match for Bangalore, and Bangalore played cricket with pride. Bangalore’s opener Sophie Devine made the match one-sided by playing an inning of 99 runs in 36 balls. Sophie Devine also hit 8 sixes and 9 fours in her innings. Due to this innings of Sophie Devine, Bangalore won the match by 8 wickets by scoring 189 runs in just 15.3 overs.
In this match, Gujarat won the toss and decided to bat first. Gujarat scored 188 runs losing 4 wickets in 20 overs. South African player Laura Wolvaardt scored the highest innings of 68 runs for Gujarat Giants. He scored an inning of 68 runs in 42 balls with the help of 9 fours and 2 sixes. At the same time, Australia’s Ashley Gardner also supported Laura by playing an inning of 41 runs in 26 balls. In this innings, Gardner hit 6 fours and 1 six. Apart from these, Sabbhineni Meghana also played a brilliant inning of 31 runs in 32 balls, in which she hit 4 fours.
Bangalore gave a befitting reply to Gujarat’s innings
Bangalore captain Smriti Mandhana used seven bowlers but they did not get much success. Shreyanka Patil took the most wickets from Bangalore. Shreyanka took 2 wickets for 17 runs in 2 overs. Apart from them, Sophie Devine and Preeti Bose got one wicket each.
