Here Brett Lee was asked whether Umran Malik should be a part of the Indian Test team? To this the former Australian fast bowler said, ‘Why not? In my opinion he is perfect for this. He is such a young man who is moving towards becoming a superstar. He has good pace, his bowling action is excellent and his running is good and the approach to bowling is also tremendous. So I would definitely say yes to include him in the Test team.’
Umran’s international career has been like this
Umran Malik had performed brilliantly in IPL 2022. He troubled the opposition batsmen with his consecutive 150+ speed balls and took a lot of wickets. The result was that right after the IPL, he got a chance to make his T20 International debut and then he was made a part of India’s ODI playing-11.
Umran Malik has so far taken 11 wickets in 8 T20 International matches with a bowling average of 22.09. Although here he has looted runs at an economy rate of 10.48. His performance in ODIs has been even better. In 8 ODIs, he has taken 13 wickets at a bowling average of 27.30 and an economy rate of 6.45. Till now he has not got a chance to make his test debut.
