Earlier Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bowl against Gujarat Titans. Gujarat opened the batting first, in which the team got off to a poor start as bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave Hyderabad their first breakthrough. He got Shubman Gill (7) caught by Rahul Tripathi. At the same time, Bhuvneshwar proved to be very expensive in his first over. After Gill’s dismissal, Sai Sudarshan took the lead in the innings. Captain Kane Williamson, applying spin in the fourth over of the innings, handed the ball to Washington Sundar. He conceded just six runs in his over.

Manohar scored 35 runs in 21 balls with the help of one six and five fours. Manohar was followed by two more wickets in the form of Rahul Tewatia (6) and Rashid Khan (0), whose wickets were taken by T Natarajan in his 20th over. At the same time, Pandya remained unbeaten and scored 50 runs in 42 balls with the help of a six and four fours.

Thanks to the batting of Pandya and Manohar, the team lost 162 wickets in 20 overs. Scored runs and set Sunrisers Hyderabad a target of 163 runs to win.
