Process of porting to Airtel
For this you have to send an SMS to 1900 from your mobile number. The format for sending SMS is: PORT <space> (Your 10 digit mobile number). For example, if your mobile number is 9876543210, you will send this SMS: PORT 9876543210
You will get an SMS (Unique Porting Code) from 1900. UPC is a 10-digit code, which is used to port your number to another operator. Now you go to the nearest Airtel store. Fill the porting request form and submit your UPC. You will have to provide some documents, such as your ID proof and address proof. The porting process usually takes 2-3 days. Once the porting process is complete, you will be able to use your old number on Airtel network.
Process of porting to Jio
Go to Jio website and "port your number" Click the link. Enter your mobile number and "submit" Click on the button. You will get an SMS from Jio with your Unique Porting Code (UPC). Now visit the nearest Jio store. Fill the porting request form and submit UPC. You will need to provide your ID proof and address proof.
Process to port to Vodafone Idea
The process of porting to Vodafone Idea is exactly the same as that of Airtel. All you need to do is visit the nearest Vodafone Idea store to port to Vodafone Idea. Rest of the process is same as Airtel.
Note : Many companies are now also doing home delivery of SIM. In this, a person from the company comes to your house and takes the document and UPC code from you. After this, the SIM is handed over.
