Delhi Electricity Bill Scam: Delhi Police has arrested a 34-year-old man for duping people by sending fake messages. He said that the accused has been identified as Dinesh Chand, a resident of Dwarka Sector-28. A senior police officer said that a complaint was lodged at the Cyber Police Station in which the complainant had alleged that he had received a WhatsApp message stating that his electricity would be disconnected as the bill for the previous month was not updated. . The complainant also got a call from the fraudster who asked him to download the APK file on his mobile. After installing the APK file, two amounts – Rs 49,805 and Rs 49,645 – were deducted from the complainant’s bank account, the official said. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chandan Choudhary said that during investigation the location of the accused was traced to Dwarka and he was arrested. Police said that three mobile phones, 20 debit/credit cards, four check books etc. have been recovered from them.
